A study done about thousands of Americans after the traumatic event of 911 found that those who bottled up their emotions suffered fewer mental and physical problems than those who let their emotions out. I can believe it. Contrary to popular opinion and some TV talk shows, continuing to talk about your problems all the time and wallow in negative feelings are not healthy for a person. I could never figure out why anybody would want to spill their guts to family, friends and complete strangers. Even worse are those who get on TV in front of millions and do it. I am a private person and I would never spill my deepest most private feelings to anyone. I don’t even like thinking about my problems much. To me people who are continually focused on old wounds never have those old wounds heal. As mom said to me when I was kid picking at a scab on my knee “Quit picking at it and let it heal!” The same principle I think applies to emotional traumas such as relationship break ups etc. Life is much nicer when you don’t think too deeply about your feelings and problems all the time. Ignorance is sometimes bliss and some of the happiest people are the somewhat clueless.

I have spent the week coughing, sneezing, blowing my nose and gagging on mucus. I am beginning to think this is more than just cold/flu. I think allergies are also hitting me hard. Everything is blooming this time of year and the wind loves to carry pollen.
Life is so unfair everybody else can go outside without their hood up, walk around, and not be bothered with their sinuses. Not me though I can’t stand the cool breeze off the lake and have to cover up my head or my sinuses will be really acting up. I just wish to be free from my allergies and Mr. Flu.
I don’t know what it is but I seem to attract weird people like a moth to a flame. Maybe it is the doe eyes, I look too sympathetic, or maybe it is because I am female but it seems all sorts of weird people come up to me wanting to talk. Today for instance, I am standing at the bus stop minding my own business when this scruffy old guy comes up to me and starts talking about the wind and mentioning the tornados down in the U.S. I am nodding ok and then he starts babbling nonsense and saying, how the wind in general will never go away. Well duh! We have always had wind. The guy made as much sense as the weird middle-aged dude I met at the EX last summer who was rambling on about a banana on the moon. He thought he was making perfect sense.
I was blogging hopping yesterday and dropping Entrecards on blogs. One thing I noticed is how long it takes for some these blogs to load in my browser. They take way too long. People over load their blogs with widgets, advertisements and graphics. I honestly don’t think a person needs all that advertising on their blog. Very few people are going to click on those ads. I certainly don’t click on them. People visit a blog primarily for the content not the advertisements. You have to give people a reason to visit your blog. Once you have attracted a certain demographic and built up readership then it would be appropriate to have advertising on your blog. There is no point having advertising on your blog if hardly anybody reads it. All the ads do in that case is add clutter to your blog. Also, I would go sparingly on the ads. Too many ads compete with the main content and it cheapens the blog image. Not to mention it turns readers off when they see too many advertisements. My suggestion to the many blogs I visit out there is to get rid of some of the clutter and par down the number advertisements. It would improve the look of the blog and be more inviting to read. That is my two cents worth on the topic of blogs.

Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Trailer-5.22.08
On Saturday, I went and saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull starring Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. The movie was awesome. It was non-stop action from beginning to end. There were no slow parts in this movie, which is a good thing. It is not so good if you have to get up and go to the bathroom in the middle movie because you would hate to miss anything so I would strongly suggest you go the bathroom before the movie starts. One thing about the movie that I thought was little funny was a man Harrison Ford’s age beating up a much younger bigger guy. Ford is a little on the old side to be playing an action hero. It was like watching Clint Eastwood play a secret service agent in the movie In the line Fire. Both roles were really meant for younger men but other than that, I would give this Indiana Jones movie 4.5/5.
I am sitting here with my eyes tearing up and my nose running. Man I hate colds/flu. It has been a little over a year since I got the last one. I knew my streak of good luck would end soon. Why oh why couldn’t I have gotten this back in January instead of near the end of May when the weather is nice? It is harder to get rid of a cold/flu when the weather is warmer. I have been taking cold medication to fight this and it sort of works. It could be worse. I am just waiting to lose my voice as I normally do when I get something like this. I am keeping my fingers cross that this won’t get any worse. I hate losing my voice and coughing all the time. Ice cream is looking pretty darn good about now.
I was at the mall today and couldn’t help but notice a group of people cooing at some baby. Complete strangers would come up to the baby telling it how beautiful it was. I thought that was funny considering when you are a baby you are bald, toothless, pudgy, wear diapers and drool. It is the only time in our lives when complete strangers come up to us telling us how cute we are. If we were bald, fat, toothless, wore diapers and drooled as adults nobody would think we were cute! It is funny really, when you stop and think about it. It is too bad we can’t remember the nice things said to us when we were babies.
